Writers Against Covid-19 began as a service to all those feeling isolated and anxious during lockdown. 

Stories can be on any subject and in any style, in most genres, but should not mention the virus.  The following list is not exhaustive.

Flash fiction - 500 words or less

No children's stories.


Length:  up to 2,000 words.
 
  • Stories must be your own original work, unpublished in print or electronic form, with the exception of a club newsletter with limited circulation, e.g. u3a newsletter.
  • Copyright remains with the author. 
  • You may send several stories at the same time.
  • You may submit stories as many times as you wish.

Formatting guidelines

  • Word or PDF file
  • Remove automatic paragraph spacing from Word documents before sending and ensure paragraphs are correctly spaced.
  • Arial 12 pt or similar
  • Single line spacing
  • No indents
  • Double quotes for speech
  • Two hard returns at the end of each paragraph

  • Your name must be on the manuscript
  • Put the title of the story in the subject area of your email
